Onions are a great idea in the greenhouse! I can't wait for your clean up garden videos because I love cleaning up!❤
Silly cat. Don’t forget to plant sweet onions. ❤❤❤
I agree with you about winter sowing…where we are, it can go from 10 degrees to 70 degrees in any given day (December to February), and there is literally no point to attempting winter sowing in the jugs, as the tender seedlings are alternately frozen and fried. It’s just cruel and I refuse to do it 😂😊
Cut spikes for each of your cherry pots. Where he can't lay he can't play. Cheap simple and benign. 10 inches long buried 9 to 7 in. deep. 3 inches to irritate and not long enough to dig up.
I had to start my celery and onion seeds again. I got some weird mold/fungus. Hopefully this batch takes. I am also on kid watch for my first ever farm birth. Excited and nervous all at the same time.
Oh thank God. I heard flooding in Kentucky. I don't want anything bad to happen to anyone, but your family was on my mind. So happy to see you posted today ❤
Do you have fire ants up there?
❤❤❤☕🥶
Have a great day farm fam!
Don't forget nitrogen is a volatile nutrient, it evaporates to air, washes away with water, so time may have already fixed the too much N problem you had.
Ik zou vooral gaan nadenken over uien recepten. 😋
Another great day on the Homestead! Thank you for the garden tour… beautiful distraction from my snow and ice covered one LOL! So excited to see how the onions will do in the greenhouse. Thankful to hear you are all OK! Blessings Kiddo!🌿💚🙏💕👵
I was really hoping last week was the end of our freezing cold spells. But we’re supposed to have a couple of days this week below 30 during the day and single digits at night with wind. I planted tons of garlic this year because I read it can help get rid of blight. I’ve struggled with early blight every single year. I still get lots of tomatoes but it spread to my peppers last year and they did terrible.
Goodness me! Stay warm! Oh Monty on the roof was too cute! Lil stinker!😂
Setting and listening to your video I would have to say that I would love to learn how to grow nice big onions myself so I'm going to definitely be following you with your journey with that we are right now sitting with about 6 in of snow here in Michigan and our weather right now is -3 we have a Arctic cold snap coming through with lake effect snow every day I'm on baby goat watch because two of my toes are showing early signs of labor and they're due tomorrow and then I've got one due next week and then one the following week I've got five rabbits that are due on the 19th I got a couple that have already pulled here today and I'm actually sewing my rabbit hide blanket so thank you heather for this for this beautiful video of Ventura of your garden thank you again till next time God bless you all.
Thank You, Thank You for your inspiring winter garden tour! I sooo enjoy you going over your next steps and strategies! We’re having a cold snap this week, too – into the 20s for lows, in central Georgia! Your video just helped to motivate and energize me… knowing that spring will come and I need to continue on with planning and start getting ready!
This will be our 3rd year on this homestead! Last year we worked on trees. This year perennials and crops that will be on stock rotation are our main focus!
I have 3 kinds of seed potatoes from Hoss Seed chitting! Our local veggie man has fingerlings… and, I might get some of those to see if they’ll chit for planting. I just picked up our Azure Standard order of horseradish, ginger, turmeric and sun chokes/Jerusalem artichokes. I’m going to pot and root those for the perennial gardens! I’ve started rooting my sweet potatoes for slips! I have cuttings of sugar cane being delivered tomorrow… I’ll start those! I love sourcing all of the things for planting materials! Then there are all of the seeds… so many seeds! LOL Happy Gardening, Dear Heather! ❤
The garden looks good, and I love hearing your plans to remedy issues. I am going to order from Dixondale Farm next year for onions to save myself indoor growing space bc I am already working with a small space, and they take too long to get to transplant size.❤❤ silly kitty. Question… I have 2 kitties that I want to be outside barn cats. They are six mths, and they have been on my back screen porch for that time bc I want to get the female fixed before I let them roam, but I am so nervous to let them out. I want them to stay around the house, and I don't want anything to happen to them. How do I get through that anxiety??any tips❤❤
Monday morning visit with my favorite niece. Lovely start to my week. We are fixin to snuggle down for a bitter cold snap. Lookin forward to spring. Give Margie an extra neck scratch from me. 💜👍💜 Aunt Beth
I use the black trash cans too. Works well. Excited to see green real plants in the ground. Lol
Maybe some cucamelons on the trellis? They’re compatible with onions and love nitrogen.
I am super excited to start experimenting with my garden this year! ❤ I've already got some seeds planted indoors just to curb that itch haha 😅
When we had a cold snap one year and I had a bunch of things out, I covered them with flannelette yardage I hadn’t made jammies out of yet. Do you have some rugged yardage kicking around you could use? Old blankets? It would be s shame to lose all that hard work 6:42
I will continue watching.
If that rose is really fragrante, maybe you could try to make some rose jam!!🌹
Ryan says today that March looks to be warmer 🎉
Omg I can't wait to start my garden, but right now it's covered in snow and ice lol. Omg the cat is just having the time of his life lol. He is on top of the world lmfao
You are building that land up again with all that you’re doing! Just imagine what changes you will see by the time your kids are grown. Gotta love Mother Nature for taking back what is hers lol! ❤💚🐝
I wonder what Joel Salatin’s advice would be for your drainage??
The sound of the kitty claws on the greenhouse plastic –>>> 😱!!😱!! OH. MY. HEART!
Can I suggest using garden staples through the holes of your trash cans and you could hold clear plastic or frost cloth over them to keep them warm with your weather.
Oh my goodness Monte made me giggle… I so needed that! ❤
Monty was being a little extra. LOL! Goofy boy. That stinks you are getting a bug issue again. Onions would be fun to grow.
