I've had this ring of fire since the summer and it has been growing great!

I know variegation is very genetic, but with ring of fire light seems to play a big part in the variegation.

My question is, is there a way to tell if ill ever have a half moon or anything? It doesn't seem you can really tell by the stems variegation like monstera or other philodendron!

Thanks!

  1. I don’t think you can. I bought mine about 14 months ago, and about 10 months I got a half moon leaf. It’s been the only one since, every time a new one is coming out I cross my fingers, but nothing yet.

I believe with these, more light is helpful for more variegation. Mine has certainly seemed to abide by that. So, it’s no for sure way to get it, but increasing light may help

Light does not have any role in variegation of ring of fires. Light can absolutely cause pinks due to light stress but that is not variegation.
