Hey, I was gifted my first today, can I get advice? Do I/can I/should I put it in soil? Are there roots starting to poke out the sides? What's a good potting mix? Anything you can think to share. Appreciate you all so much.

so birkins are quite an unstable genus and can revert to their mother species if not given enough light (or if they just feel like it) so lots of lights. the roots coming out the sides are aerial roots, philos are climbing plants so a moss pole or support would be a good idea.

you can grow it in hydroponics but defo do a bit of research about fertilising etc. maybe also consider semi hydro

you can transfer to soil, philos like a chunky mix with lots of perlite, pumice, orchid bark and other components
