I like the concept but to grow crops in the winter I need a heated room with plenty of daylight / sunlight, plus artificial light for the short hours of daylight – which I do not have.
This is a wicking bucket You can do this using big barrels as well for many things to grow. Just Google wicking buckets.
He also has a closed in patio and lives in Asia I think don't know if they get really cold weather like we do in the states for winter high tunnel or greenhouse would be good for this application
I like the concept because it can be moved around. The saplings look like a kind of bok choy
I think these containers are not suitable for the purpose. Firstly, they contain too many chemicals, plasticizers, for example. Secondly, most containers are not light-stable. They are therefore broken after just one season. Thirdly, the amount shown is not even enough to feed one person. All year round. Most people underestimate the space and energy required for self-sufficiency. It is not possible with less than 2500 square meters. And then nothing can get in the way, such as vermin, weather, etc…
It is fine for an illustration or as a children's lesson. But not for nutrition.

Growing food in plastic isn't the best choice. We have bits of plastic in our bodies, in our blood, in placenta…
Less plastic please!
This is a bad idea you'll be adding microplastics to your diet
