I have multiple hollow patches where my new turf just need survived. Do I just top dress, over seed with rye and water? The grass is Sir Walter Buffalo. It’s been in for about 6 months
Honestly just a light top dressing should do it. It’ll fill itself back in.
Then make sure that spot is getting hit by the sprinklers equally as everywhere else… Not any more or less. In particular, make sure the sprinklers aren’t hitting that wall, causing the water to pool up in that spot.

Don’t overseed. Just cover with some sand and/or compost or just leave it alone honestly. Fertilize and it should fill in.
