Just picked up “Snake Eyes” (snake plant) from Walmart five days ago and he’s developed this. Just a heads up, I am totally a beginner with inside plants so I might have watered too much 🤷🏽♀️. He’s right by the window like four feet away, though it’s very temporary.

likely overwatering from a problem that quick. these guys barely need water. you should water by thoroughly drenching and then letting it COMPLETELY dry for atleast 2 weeks. then water again.
No clue but i thought the first picture was of a goose looking up and i thought he was sick bc he was green
just my two cents. I have two snake plants—one I repotted into a ceramic pot (one drainage hole), and another I left in its original plant pot (several large drainage holes)—and they are in a south-facing but first floor apartment so not a ton of sunlight. I actually only bottom water them once a MONTH, and even at that, recently somehow the ceramic potted one didn’t dry fully, causing a good 1/3 of the roots to rot 🙁
Never use ceramic pots with these bad boys. They need the soil to dry out quickly, and ceramic and plastic aren’t porous enough. Use terra cotta and really back off on water.
Unless it was brought out in the cold, this looks like overwatering to me.
Over watering is not about how much water you give the plant, but how often you water and how long it takes the soil to dry. As long as you have the right soil you can pour a bucket of water in the pot every time you water.
