I just got this lil guy today from a special someone. If it dies I swear I’ll cry and I’m completely ignorant when it comes to plants. How do I take care of it? I was told to give it cold water, is it once a day? How much water? I see a lil baby trying to grow, I wanna help him.
I know flowers are not always blooming but my goal is to keep it healthy so it can bloom again.
I don’t have a garden, pls help 😭

The green will die off eventually and the bulb has to go dormant in cold. Typically they pop out of the ground in early spring, bloom for a week or two and the green eventually dies to the ground after a few weeks. Then they are done for the entire year. I think you could hang onto it, but typically with these people throw them away after they bloom or bury the bulb for next year.

I don’t know how the bulb thing works, but I know it does. I think regrowing it every year would be a sweet tradition, like a heritage plant.

Once the blooms fade cut them off but keep watered and in Sun until you can plant them outside to bloom again next year. The more and healthier the leaves the better the bulb. You can just stick the entire contents of this pot in one whole and planted deep.
