I've been having trouble in my greenhouse . This is my first year using a greenhouse to protect my tropical plants. I live in a damp area so I have been struggling with high humidity, bad air circulation as I just added the large fan. I didn't visit the greenhouse for a few days and came back to dying plants. The large tree is a blue banana and the last picture is a red pineapple.

I don't water consistently because I didn't want to increase the already high humidity. The greenhouse is polyethylene and on the sunny side of my yard but by trees that block evening sun. I do not use any artificial lighting.

I've been having lots of trouble with white powdery clumps growing on some of my plants. Can I salvage my plants?

Take a picture of powder white clumps. I’d imagine that is either powdery mildew or mealy bugs. Mildew comes from lack of airflow, mealy bugs are an annoying pest.

Also what’s your low temperature in there at night?

  2. Good god how long were you away?

If it was only quick and these plants were fine beforehand, something went very wrong in terms of climate

Did you get a cold snap or did you maybe leave a window open or something?

The white powdery stuff is a fungus called powdery mildew, that greenhouse is probably *COATED* in spores at this point

You may still be able to save your banana trees, but you’ll need to chop them to regrow. I really don’t see them pulling back around in that state as is.You’ve got to water them if you want them to thrive though, theyre thirsty things to be sure. Maybe some 20/20/20 plant food as well, the soil may be lacking the nutrients they crave.

The white stuff is probably your bigger issue, as it could either be bug poop or fungus. Either way, a good neem oil bath would be a good place to start for either.
