Hi guys wondering what the pros and cos of putting a raised bed inside our newly finished greenhouse. I'm thinking about putting a long raised bed in the middle and shelving around the outside as we have a reasonably decent size space to utilize. We are in New Zealand where its currently half way through summer.
Currently we use the greenhouse for seedlings before they will be transplanted into the outdoor garden bed.

As someone new to gardening any advice or suggestions on how best to use greenhouse space would be very appreciated. We are also wondering what we should be planting now to grow entirely in the greenhouse over the colder months.

We are looking primarily to grow as many vegetables as we can year round between the greenhouse and outdoor raised bed.

As it's a new build and a greenhouse that's recently been converted from a car-port we know that we will make mistakes and learn as we go but we would love to know how to maximize the potential as early as we can.

Looking forward to hearing your tips and suggestions.

Looks good, but aren’t you worried for humidity on the house wall?

Does the roof drain off the edge of your fence and right into your neighbors yard because that would be a problem if mine did that lol 😂

Nice I would container garden inside until you have your environment dialed in. You’re going to need to be able to add vents etc. Enjoy the process and thanks for sharing.

Great concept and good job putting flashing on the wall where ledger is. I believe you are over spanned on your rafters though for the spacing you have. Looks like you used 2x6s, and if you look at a span chart it will tell you the length and spacing recommendations. It looks like your second rafter in is bowing already. This is going to create a belly in the roof and hold water. If you are in an areas that sees snow it can colapse the roof. I would either put posts and a beam half way across the span to reduce span length or consider adding more rafters to help distribute the load. You can also shorten the roof to be on your side of the fence and install a small section of gutter to collect the rain water in a rain barrel for watering your garden.
