I’ve always heard don’t use woody stock for grafting but this shouldn’t be a problem if you have woody tips right?
Shouldn’t woody tip cuts of San Pedro still work for graft stock if you let them grow a bit and graft to the fresh growth?
Received a few tips/mods that are from an old stand (photo). Hopping to use them as graft stock.

Just cut into it, it ain’t that woody is it? The stock I used last night was looking like this, it was still green inside. I say just go for it
I’d suggest waiting for a pup and grafting that. If it’s too woody, grafts will probably not stick well.
Or do an areole graft, but I don’t have experience with that personally. It looks interesting and a way to really make some cool stuff.
Roots these giant stems, let them pup and take the pups. Make these guys your rootstock producers. I havent had great success with woody grafts but not impossible
Hey are these from relevant custurd? If so i would NOT use these for graft stock! I used one and it worked great but you are gonna regret it once you see what the new growth looks like as they are some of the bluest pach ive ever seen!
If i’m wrong i apologize, just looked like his work!
