Welcome to the Japan special edition of Youtube Livestreams with Keiko! We’re painting a scene from a Japanese garden in Kobe, called Sorakuen.

Techniques: wet-on-wet for the background, then adding details on dry. Some texture and more details with colored pencils.

Materials list:

watercolor paper

watercolors I brought a limited palette with me. Feel free to use whatever autumn colors you have at hand, plus some jade/green colors for the water.

I’m using Alohawatercolors:
Vanilla (buff titanium)
Lagoon (manganese blue hue)
Jade vine (phtalo turquoise)
Avocado
Sanctuary (Green earth & cobalt green mix)
Mango (medium cadmium yellow)
Opera pink
Kohola (synthetic indigo)
Cocoa (burnt umber)
Waimea (raw sienna)

Colored pencils (greens, browns, vermillion)

Large quill brush, round brush size 6 and 1
