Hi, I need your help as I’m not at all knowledgable about plants. This Taro had a rotten root, I cut of those parts with a sterile knife and washed the wound with peroxide. I’m letting it dry now for a day or so, but should i try to plant it like this or put it in water? I appreciate all the help. It got enough light but was watered irregularly or overwatered, and it’s been in the same pot for over a decade.

ok I really don’t know much about plants but I love them and have been trying to learn too,
I just dk this part of the plant looks healthy enough atm even to me to be either just put in water (and see if roots grow, please don’t come at me for this, idk if it’s the best, I’ve just seen my mum do this with many plants that she has taken cuttings of and they usually grow roots into the water and she plants them once strong enough roots grow) or you might be able to just plant it straight up and see if it’ll regrow. I could be completely wrong though and for that I apologize for my ignorance and am just willing to learn more about plants since I love them (I’m not sure where to get more information on them from)
if you get any tips or advice lmk id love to learn as much as I can to keep my plants healthy and alive as well 🙂
good luck with reviving this plant, and all future ones you adopt <3
I don’t think they can be regrown without the corm or part of the root system attached. I’m not 100% sure though, hopefully someone else can chime in who’s more knowledgeable 🙂
