I also do this with my urine and woodchips. But what has improved my soil is buried ceramic pots that are sealed from the bottom. It has allowed my woodchips to break down faster and create humidity and algae for my trees in the summer. I keep them about 3 inches off the ground. The bigger the ceramic pot, the better. Im in maricopa county, tonopah AZ, 1 year in 150 plus trees, mesquite, palo verde, moringa, castor bean, huizache FROM SEED.
We put a vegetable and flower garden in our backyard. Dug a nice deep hole. Filled it up all my vegan kitchen scrapes, no animal protein except egg shells. When it was full, dug another hole in a different spot. Repeat.
