    Bugs man….. remove what you can physically, find sprays that work well on scale I’d recommend Spinosad, pure crop 1, some say neem, I think it smells like shit and I’d rather just throw a plant out instead of using it but if you don’t mind it go for it. It’s good to have an arsenal that you rotate just make sure you don’t spray sulfur and oils as you’ll kill your plant. Good luck this won’t be fun.

  3. I also discovered scales on my Areca palm two weeks ago. Firstly I treated it with permethrin solution in spray, but I later discovered a big scales colony around base of stem. I removed it and today add systemic insecticide solution to water the plant. I hope it will help.

    I recently had the same problem on a tiny olive tree. I sprayed the soil and leaves with rubbing alcohol 2 days in a row and that seemed to do the trick.

    Honestly, burn that one and get a new one. Treat it from day 1 with neem oil
