The pot doesn't have drainage, so I'm watering only a little once a month. It stands next to a window with morning light.

Thank you for posting to r/plantclinic!

It looks like you may be asking about a cactus or succulent. In addition to any advice you receive here, please consider visiting r/cactus r/succulents for more specialized care advice.

A common problem with cacti and succulents is etiolation. This is when a succulent stretches or becomes leggy. Reply with “!etiolation” for advice.

It could be yes if ur pot hasn’t got drains then it’s never gettin a true flush of the salt if its soaked some salts up its may well be secretion of salts or other minerals

This appears to be a Lizard Skin succulent and I think they are supposed to have the white spots. These look normal. Not like an infestation of any kind. Maybe someone sees something I don’t but I think this is a healthy little plant đŸŒ”

I don’t know if it’s salt, but it is minerals from the water, staying behind after transpiration (the water evaporates but the minerals stay). I use a soft paint brush to “dust” the leaves.

Common with jade and no cause for concern. Its just pushing out mineral build up/salts.

I would add a drain hole though, jade really like to completely dry out between waterings

If you’d to avoid adding more salts, try watering with rainwater.
