I’ve had them for a couple of years, they started looking like this in year one itself, where I wasn’t submerging it in water.
I need to know if I should still submerge them in water every other week. Any advice is appreciated! 🙏

Yep, brown and dry = dead
Green/silvery =alive
Yea if it’s alive when you put it water is should look green. Your plants look very dead
Looks very dead to me
They have dead parts, I’m sure, if they are that old, but the new growth may be fine. Dunk them and see how they look. If any parts green up, those parts are alive. They may just need haircuts. It’s normal as they grow and age.
