  1. Hey plants doctors,
I am at loss with some of my plants,
On the 10 I have , 3 are showing huge signs of detress.

For these 3 plants, the same answers, since I kinda have no idea what I am doing tbh….

    What are your watering habits:
I tried not to drown them, since that’s my mistakes usually, but I might have overdone it again….

including how often and how much,
    I’d say

and does the pot have drainage?
yes, rock at bottom of pots

How long you have you had the plant?

    1. 3 months
    2. 5 months
    3. 1 month

How long have you had the problem?

    1. 1 month later
    2. they were amazing at first and suddenly they died
    3. quite right away

How much light does the plant get?
they are near my windows all.

thanks a lot for any help…
also, I read somewhere that plants bought at aldi / lidl or such don’t have good soil, so when I bought them, i change immediatly the soil with good one I guess (not that expensive so i kinda have no idea too)….

Drainage means the containers have holes at the bottom so water can escape. I’m not sure what you mean when you say drainage with rocks at the bottom of the pot.

Most of them look like they need a lot more light. Do you have an area that offers more sun?

If the plant isn’t getting enough light it won’t be able to process water.

You forgot to mention how much and how often do you water them. The worst thing is to water too often with too little water.

I always add perlite to the soil mix. I aerates soil and regulates moisture.

I actually would recommend drowning the plants if the soil is right (soil that does have perlite or similar). If you water with too little water at time then some parts of soil never get moisture and roots there will die. Dead tissue is prone to rot.

    1. Plant alocasia – I actually would let it go dormant for the winter. I would lessen watering significantly, cut off all the dead leaves as they die. It will start growing again in the spring it has bulb like organ in the soil called corm. It also makes babies, so look out for tiny corms when you decide to replant.
    2. plant tradescantia. I would chop it all off and propagate in water. Roots will emerge quickly and i would plant them in fresh soil mix with perlite.
    3. Plant (forgot the name). All those palm like plants need A LOT of moisture. Never let them dry out. Not sure if it will survive. I personally have killed them every time.
