Just to add in as im watching 🦔 the only way to know a bonfire fire pile is hedgehog free is to burn it the day you build it before they could move in overnight. Prodding and disturbing it wont make them come out. Best way is to rebuild the pile closeby so you can be absolutely sure its empty. Follow an amazing hedgehog rescue and they warn about this so just passing their info on/adding to yours ❤️
I can see progress has been made already. I don't think a garden is ever really done but rather an evolving tapestry of nature.
