Went to japan for the first time last year and spent 12 days in tokyo i dont think i had enough time to see most of tokyo
Teamlabs is way too packed 80% of the time. Not worth it.
I also found the top 10 lists annoying to deal with
I like just experiencing the enviroment and just going to shops
But every time I see go karting on a list i immediately ignore it
To be faaaaiiiir, most the tour guides I've had have been absolutely amazing. The free tour around the imperial palace was amazing
Japan is not for foreigner to live.
Its shouldnt be a choice easily pick.
I want japan to remain piece.
Team Labs and Universal were so worth going to
Most of the living annoyances for foreigners have to do with the language barrier.
Japan is so stunningly pretty go out to the countryside ! Start hiking in the mountains go to small ryokans and try to enjoy the culture you will have a great time. Kyoto is way to crowded my recommendation for sakura Omihachiman 45 minutes west of kyoto by train. The canals and the historic city is empty as nice as in kyoto but way less crowded. You can rent a bike and cycle along lake biwa. I stayed in the machiya inn in omihachiman where i was able to bath in a sake barrel ! The ryokan was a former sake brewery just totally nice people. On the right side when you exit the train station there is the small Daruma-ya ramen shop. Check out the tonkotsu ramen with kimchi. It just blew my mind i visited Japan several times and this was the best bowl i ever had. Just lovely.
If youre interested in culture look in to the Deep Japan Channel of the Last Samurai he shows gardens, shrines, temples, museums, castles from a Japanese perspektive. The man is a gem older guy but gives deep insight into the culture and historic background. Criminally underrated, not the best quality of production in his earlier videos but he shows his visits from a Japanese side and shows hidden gems you would have missed.
everytime this topic comes up we never get a concrete list of things that they would recommend. Does anyone have a list of things that they have liked doing on a trip to japan?
I went to oedo onsen 10 years ago and was really sad to see it closed when I came back two years ago😢.
Skytree I agree with Connor and Garnt. Personally I prefer Tokyo Tower
