    I always thought garlic needed a very cold spell when planted in order for it to split into cloves or you end up with a round bulb? I will be interested to see the results. Thanks

    Thanks Ivan, for the update, will be starting my garlic this week. Home bargains, selling seeds, 49p a packet, they got good dates on them.

    i am finding even in summer months so many packets of seeds that are in date fail to germinate.

    I'll be definitely giving this a try as I've never grown garlic before. Going off topic I've 4 tomato plants that have survived indoors from last year. Even had tomatoes on uptil last month! They started flowering a couple of weeks ago. Should i remove the flowers? Or even prune them. They're Aztec's a small determinate variety. Keep on going Ivan. I've learnt loads from your goodself. Cheers
