  1. Thank you! Flowers are new to me but I really want bees and butterflies, this was super helpful!

  2. Hi Luke šŸ‘‹šŸ» Loved your video, as always! A couple of years ago, I grew Bells of Ireland, because I watched several gardening You Tube videos recommending them as a good cut flower. Though they are quite beautiful, what was left out in the videos that I watched was that Bells of Ireland have large thorns, I found that out the hard way(ouchee)😧

  3. Remember to grow MEDICINAL flowers, too folks! I grow these every year & our family hasn't needed a doctor or pharmaceutical in a decade: Echinacea (immune system booster) + Nasturtium (Antibiotic) + Calendula (Cell Regenerator) + Chamomile (Nervous System Soother) + Bee Balm (Nervous System Booster) + Lemon Balm (Nervous System Booster) + Yarrow (Styptic – stops bleeding internally & externally) + Mullein (Respiratory System) + Elderberry (Immune System Booster) + St. John's Wort (so many various benefits ) + Valerian (Anxiety & Insomnia & menstrual cramps) + Feverfew (Mild Analgesic Pain Reliever) + Skullcap (Powerful Pain Reliever)

So many herbs also have tremendous Medicinal benefits. I won't list those on this flower video but do learn about them yourselves, folks! Happy Gardening!

  4. Flowers mentioned
    1. Poppy
    2. Snap dragons
    3. Status (I don't know how to spell this)
    4. Dalia
    5. Lavender
    6. Violas and pansies
    7. Bells of Ireland
    8. Larkspur

  5. For once I beat you I started flowers three weeks ago to have them ready for Memorial Day. Cemetery visits are still a thing my family does.

  6. Can you do another video when it comes time to plant these out? That helps me ensure I get mine outside at the right time. 😊

  7. @MIGardener Whatever happened to the Kelsae onion seeds? They’re listed in the catalog but not on the site šŸ¤”

  8. I’ve got my order of seeds and trays from MIgardener and I’m so excited to get some of these flowers going!

  9. Could you please let us know what size seed trays you are using? Is it 72 cells? Thank you! Love this video!

  10. I’m a fan of your seeds & your channel! I just did a video of what seeds I’m starting in February which included most of these & a few more – Yarrow, Bee Balm! I guess I need to add lavender, statice & dahlias (I started mine later last year). I love pansies & violas so much that I sowed several trays!

  11. I recently watched a lot of videos that said poppies need to be directly sown. Also, I've had no problem germinating lavender w/out cold stratification, but I have accidently left my seeds out in the garage in below freezing temps.

  12. I wish you would list in your description the flowers, Many time I won't sit through the video to find out what flowers you're talking about.

  13. Luke, if feel very silly asking this question, but here goes! I didn't do research on how to cold stratify seeds. (Yes, I know now how to thank you for your video!) Therefore, I just put the seed packets of Poppies, Lavender, Milkweed, etc. in my freezer. I was late on getting them planted, so I just tried this. However, I never got back to the seeds to plant. The seed packets have been in the freezer for over a year now. Will the seeds still be viable?

  14. I always have such a hard time getting pansies and violets to germinate. I have tried everything (I'll see if wintersowing works, i have some out on the porch now). I've gotten a few to germinate in the dark but they get leggy because only one will sprout at a time. I've cold stratified, and planted them just as you did in this video (no germination at all that way).

  15. I wintersowed for the first time this year a round of flowers. So far the giant rattle poppy, bells of Ireland and snaps were super successful with that method. Excited to start the next round!

  16. What seed starting mix did you use ? I’ve used pro mix before . Not sure i used the right one😊 if anyone k ows please chime in !! Nn

  17. Thanks Luke, giving flowers a try this year in my front garden. This video is so helpful. I know the seed packets have instructions but Im a visial learner so it helps tremendously when i watch you seed starting or planting. Plus you always give extra information which is so helpful. Dont know what we do without you.

  18. You really need to add chapters to your videos. I don't understand why a lot of gardening channels fail to do so. You only hurt yourself by not adding chapters because you are limiting your engagement time.

  19. I bought those poppies from you and one of the snapdragons. Poppies are special to me since they were the big thing in my grandma's garden. Crossing my fingers i really hope they come through for me.
