Noticed my cactus start to get really skinny so was moving it to a sunnier place and it literally just flopped over and snapped. The soil is pretty dry. Is this over watering or under watering? It looks like maybe root rot?

It was in a pretty shady and cold area of the house and got watered once every 2 weeks

The plant got the above sentence much light

Is the part that snapped soft and squishy? If so it’s probably some kind of rot

Once every two weeks in a cold and dark spot sounds very much like iverwatering to me.

  3. 100% rot. It was watered too often or was sitting in water. Does the pot have good drainage? Also you don’t really have to water cacti in the winter time and way less often inside.
