Hey everyone!
I live in metro Los Angeles and this guy started popping up. I assume it’s because I over fed the crows in the area. I’d dump bags of sunflowers seeds on my backyard. If I stop putting out food for the birds will it go away? Also, what is it? Thanks in advance for your answers

As someone who is redneck adjacent, I would be looking at high powered air guns at this point.

Very cool to see the digging! I always assumed that faced backwards and kicked the dirt out!
But, it certainly would eat seeds, but it put a lot of effort into digging that hole… It will not easily motivated to leave just by stopping the feeding of birds.
