What size is your seed tray please x❤🇮🇪
Good morning Niall and everyone, hope you're all well. Bit gloomy here today, dark and bitterly cold.
Thanks for the information, would you soak the seedling trays to water on instead of spraying on the top with water like I usually do? Before they start showing.
All the spring bulbs are showing now, can't wait to see the snow drops, so lovely when they flower in clumps all round my garden and pots.
What is the shrub at the side of you with pink blossom 🌸? Looks lovely dancing in the breeze.
Well thanks for the great vlog. Time to get ready for church. Take care stay warm, have a great week, happy gardening,😊🌺🏵️🌻 bye for now 😊xx
Love the process of sieving compost plus the mixing of vermiculite, same as you 😊
Those trays are handy 👌 Great advice all around, Niall 💚🌿
Very informative video Niall, thank you. I live in the South of England and have not found a peat free compost that gives good germination or is affordable. I still use Clover for all my sowing and growing needs and they say on their website that the peat is taken from sustainable peat bogs in Ireland, to ease my conscience❤I automatically assumed all gardeners in Ireland were still using Peat😊
GMorning Niall from Boston. Perfectionist Geeks get it DONE!!! Love the Orange Primrose!!

Great vlog. Like Vanessa it is really difficult to find good quality affordable peat free compost. I treat myself when I’m doing seed sowing but have to compromise when transplanting and doing no-dig on my allotment. Regarding the large tray for soaking the seed trays in I found a cat litter tray can be a good alternative.
It makes me so happy to see you've uploaded a new video! I have a work deadline to work on, but once I'm finished, coming back to this!🤗
Great video I have the same small seed trays and use the same trays but my hard plastic also for bottom watering. I only use hard plastic containers when starting seeds.
Thanks for the tips Niall. I'm with you I have never cared for the small individual seed starting kit. I find it difficult to remove the seedlings. Enjoyed the video see you next time.
Hi Niall, I've been using vermiculite for a few years now, you can get it in different sizes, I use mine for covering the seeds instead of compost, if using compost to cover they sometimes cap but using vermiculite there's no problem with that and it lets in light, take care Steve Colwell.
Helpful video, thanks. Do you have a link for the small trays please? I’ve checked your kit list and can’t see them there.
My seed trays are recycled mushroom containers from the grocery store. I just drilled a few holes so they can drain
As I understand it, perlite absorbs water and vermiculate does not.
I know this video wasn't about planting but pre-moistening the soil is da way to go!
merci pour tous ces bons conseils !
Hi Niall I love your small seed trays I will be buying some of those your video is really informative I can see now how in the past I've set myself up for a fall so thanks ❤
Thank you. Good to know I'm doing something right!
Another great video… and another great sweater 🙂
can you help? I start my seeds indoors because I live in Montana and I only really have 90 days outdoors! I'll need to get my tomatoes, peppers and onions started soon, but I have an OUTBREAK of fungus gnats from a houseplant I bought at the hardware store. UGH! I'm worried about starting my seedlings until I get this under control. Do you have suggestions for protecting my seedlings AND eradicating these pests?
