I purchased this beauty at Home Depot. It sat for 4(?) days then I lifted it to take it out of the decorative pot. I wanted to see the plastic pot it was in.
When I lifted it flies came out. 3-4 tiny black flies.
1. Are they bad for my other plants?
2. How do I get rid of them?
I’m assuming they’re from the bottom bcuz that’s where they came from when I lifted the plastic pot up.

are you sure they’re flies and not gnats? There’s a bug called a fungus gnat that lives in soil, very common for houseplants if you buy them from an outdoor store. You can buy some stuff on amazon to get rid of them, its either a liquid you mix with your water when watering the plant to kill the larvae, or sticky traps you stick near the soil to catch the adults.
it’s also just possible that there were flies stuck from Home Depot, and they survived somehow. if you don’t see little tiny gray bugs crawling in the dirt after you water the plant, there are no fungus gnat larvae, and you should be fine
Since this was already answered I just wanted to say this is a very pretty ppthos!
