Hi Tony going of track a bit with this question but a while ago you was with Danny from grow up and you have loads of coffee grounds well so have I and not sure how to use them properly I have a hot bin put some in there also a wormory but still have loads left don't want to stop getting them from the coffee shop so I would be much appreciated with your help. Many thanks Les
I finished planting my hardneck garlic that had been in the refrigerator for a couple of months. Im planning on starting onion and leek seeds in the next week. Kale and broccoli seedlings are already out in the beds, and lettuce will be soon.
Great tips Tony! Sweet peas, chilli’s (a first for me), carrots, peppers and now lettuce! Was going to also do radishes.
I have loads of vermiculite so can I use that instead for my compost mix?
Thanks for the great vid
This is a great video. Your instructions are clear and concise and your filming is perfect too. You have so much information packed into a 20 minute video … without all the waffle some people inflict on us. This is very useful to everyone. I’m already subscribed for a while now. Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed this video and to say ‘thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Very much appreciated!
I've been watching you for a couple of years. You're a good bloke ! 👍👍👍
A great selection there mate to suit all gardeners. Those Zebrune sets look nice and healthy. Nice to see you’ve dusted the camera off 🤣👍🏻
Very nice
Fantastic video. Really love your videos. I hope there's more to come
That was so informative… perfect guide ❤
Oinions up, cauliflower up, ammi majus up, lettuce too & leeks ❤ here we go!
Top video
Great tips Tony 👍😃
Have a fabulous week ❤️ x
Excellent video Tony!
Tony, you have been missed. Nice start to the growing season. I do enjoy your manner of explaining things. After 4 years of outdoor growing this is my first full year with a greenhouse which I'm excited about. Look forward to more.
Hiya Tony great to see you . Excellent video just what I needed on a gloomy Sunday.
Can’t wait to get sowing and growing thanks so much for your info and advice. I’ve got so many flowers started and up,now time for the veg xx
I’ve never seen onion sets started ahead of time. I grew up only knowing sets, but once I learned of seeds I never looked back.
Spinach—growing some greens and mini tomatoes inside. The spinach hadn’t germinated and couldn’t get rid of bugs in the soil—so I threw it outside in the freezing cold. Then I thought I didn’t wait long enough for germination and brought them back in—2 days they popped up and bugs were gone 🙌🏼😅
It will soon be time to start seeds indoors here. We are in the start of the polar vortex in upper Midwest, US Z5a, temps through Wednesday will be -16 to -25C with colder windchills and last Thursday we just had 11C. It’s tuff on animals and plants. I bundled plants with more straw and probably won’t see many happy surprises in spring as all our snow is way down south😏. Wonder if magnetic north is changing. The last few winters were so mild like in UK. I could get use to that!
A couple years ago I saved seed from rutabaga/swede and some self sowed and they were the hardiest transplants and they produced whopper sized roots—delish and so sweet. I’m definitely going to try this with other root crops. It is winter sowing without all the jugs. Matter of fact I think I will do my winter sowing without all the jug prepping and just throw cloches over them right in the garden—no need for buying soil or prepping jugs—🙌🏼🎉. Anything that keeps the mess outside is a win with me. I didn’t get the rebuild of greenhouse done and hope we do before I need it for indoor seedlings.
Ohh to have a cooler area to grow seedlings would be nice! I grew up with wood/coal heat and can’t tolerate 18C house temp.😅
Enjoyed the video!
Excellent 😃🎉
I subscribed to your channel 🙏
Thanks Tony, helps a lot in getting going
Thanks so much for a fantastic video. Missed you,I had a very difficult growing year, starting off with poor germination, changed compost then that started to get rocky hard, changed compost again and used vermiculite to cover seeds that worked and then the slugs eat most things. Hopefully a better year ahead 🪴💐☘️☘️👍
Some great tips, I will get most of these started next month😊
Great video thank you for sharing.
Thank you Tone
Take them out side❗️ How can you bring them, unless you are American. You know, the place where grammar is poor🤨
Great info, thank you, cheered me right up. My brassicas are limping along, still only four inches tall outside, pest damage I think, so I've brought them into the greenhouse in big pots, and see what happens, I'm not giving up 😂
Excellent video Tony…..but too cold for me 20:32 to start yet
Which onions, long/medium/short day, do you use for your latitude?
Great to be sowing and planting again Tony. Spring beckons and with it the promise of tasty riches! 🙂
Fabulous video.
Next year I’m determined to grow through the winter instead of shutting the plot down in the fall and just growing garlic
Great video, thanks
Really good advice Tony, I’ve been growing for coming up to 10 years but have made a lot of similar mistakes which have in the past resulted in poor harvests, I feel renewed enthusiasm for the coming growing year.
Just found you today and subscribed. Thank you for such a great video. You have answered the very questions I had regarding which seeds I can grow this time of the year (40 acre farm in Southern U.K.) without heat, with heat, how long for etc, AND so many other really important hints and tips that other YouTubers simply don’t mention. I’ve just got to find the right heat mats and away I go…..! 🙏🏻
I am in the same part of the world as you Tony (Nantyglo) so I appreciate your videos more than many could as it helps me to know what I can sow now when it seems too cold to me! No greenhouse but I will be able to do some seeds in cloches/cold frames. I've already sorted out my onion sets and I will also be sowing some onion seeds as well as leeks (I am in Wales after all!). I seem to have a lot of success with brassicas so they'll be sown soon.
Thanks Tony a great video to keep to hand very clear tips, ime growing onions carrots cabbage and lettuce ❤
Great tips – thanks
Brilliant thank you
