Wait until spring and then plant seed. You might have some more winter storms come through and break more branches.
Edit: I just saw you rent, don’t plant seed and just leave it. If you really want to plant seed and want an actual lawn, have the landlord purchase any seed and fertilizer and have them pay you (or deduct from rent) for and lawn care.

A large, metal wire rake will help a lot.
