Join me as I tour the infamous 100+ year old garden in St. Petersburg, Florida – A garden bursting with expertly arranged subtropical, tropical, and native Florida plants.
Learn some of the history, from its inception as a fruit stand, to a privately owned ‘Roadside Attraction”, to a taxpayer-funded regional garden. Horticulture Supervisor Sean Farrell takes us on a breathtaking tour, visiting the Fountain Plaza, the Oak Pavilion, the Black Bridge, and more. Along the way we see rainbow eucalyptus, various interesting and beautiful palms, native and exotic ferns, the admirable bougainvillea wall, and so much more.
I invite you to ooo and ahhh with me as we go “Over the Fence!” for our first garden tour outside of the great state of Oregon!

Hello Garden Lovers, a little PSA… Remember that certain plants, which might not be invasive in the region they were filmed, could totally be invasive where you live! Please do your due diligence for everything that you buy and plant. Please garden responsibly 😀
Much love,
Donna
We visited this garden a few years ago. Totally different than the Oregon gardens you usually show us.
Lovely. I used to live around the corner and walk my dog past the back wall all the time. Did you get down to the Cycad and Palm Arboretum in Vinoy Park there? There are some fabulous specimens there and all really well labeled.
Thank you! Wonderful as always ❤
Such a spectacular spot and beautiful video as always! Thank you Donna for your dedication to garden culture
Wow!! When were you here in St. Pete? While my garden is small Sunken Gardens is most certainly inspiration for one of the corners in my back yard. Not show worthy yet but a gardener can dream. 🌴
I loved this video!
Beautiful garden!
TY for this insightful guided tour! Sunken gardens was a weekly pilgrimage for me for many years as I practiced yoga there. Fantastic.
We thoroughly enjoyed the time with you and watching this great feature. Beautiful job and we're thankful to be highlighted amongst the other beautiful gardens you've visited.
I plan to visit this year in early spring before the heat becomes unbearable.
Wonderful video! Spectacular gardens!😍🌿
