What I showed here is less than 5 months of growth!
It’s no longer in a self watering setup, but with the clear pot, I can easily monitor soil moisture and root growth.
I’ve also since learned there are PINK musa trees that grow VARIEGATED PINK BANANAS and now I’m on the HUNT 👀.
And in case you’re wondering what I dub root crâck is, it’s a blend of special nutrients that promote root growth and help prevent transplant shock. It’s become a staple in repotting over the years. I use a few different kinds, and the result is insanely healthy looking fast roots.
I normally hate upsizing plants so often, but I’m on the fast track to growing some bananas!

I do have a variegated musa aswell, the last leaves happen to be skinny, long and less variegation. I see, one of your newer leaves shows that aswell. I wonder why that is, fertilizer maybe?

Awesome Variegated banana plant! They grow fast and love water. I had mines out all last summer in a 10 gal pot but brought it in for the winter. Its still growing to the ceiling! Lol great content as always 🎉🙌🏽

I did not know banana plants like self watering pots!! I have one and maybe that’s what he needs. That and a good stay outside in the spring and summer. I need to order this plant crack for sure as well.

Are growing lights dangerous? I intend to buy one but I will place it next to my desk, it won’t be directed towards me but still…the rays will probably reach me 😅 May a lamp with narrow ‘funnel’ will do.. What do you think?

I’ve never seen this species of banana plant. How beautiful. When my daughter was little we grew a banana plant in her window. It grew so quickly and she was hooked on plants from that point on. I love your new home and planty spaces.
