Wrap it in a damp paper towel for an hour or 2. It helps lubricate the sheath to release the leaf without causing any damage.

Happened to my birkin’s newest leaf – tried to show restraint so as to not damage the leaf but by the time I decided to intervene it’d broken the petiole and the whole leaf was starting to die *eye-twitches*

Okay so are they not supposed to do this? All of my philodendrons start out like that and stay for a WHILE. I never f with them and they unravel beautifully.

I rarely have them stick. I do periodically mist if it looks like it’s been in that form for awhile.
