Hello everyone. Recently joined this group. After some negligence on my part I am trying to nurse my St Augustine lawn back to health. This specific area is very susceptible to this. It gets brown and dies. I do not think it is fungus nor chemical burn but I am open to thoughts. This area slopes down from the bushes to a swale. There is a sprinkler head in the bushes that irrigates the area. Additional info, I am in Orlando FL, and I am also trying to control to Voles on the other side of my home. I have not seen any Vole holes in this area
Thanks in advance.

Ok the biggest problem you have is thatch. That thatch layer allows moisture to be held. That moisture then brings fungal issues. I would rent or buy a cheap detatcher from whomever you choose. Spraying daconil will alleviate a lot of the fungal issues but won’t get rid of the underlying issue.

Trust me you can dethatch it. See the link I sent you. Yes you have a fungal infection. Doing lawn care for 35 years. I have 2500 customers etc. trust me look at that post. You just can’t be super aggressive. St Augustine will heal and spread.
