It was the soil + pot size leading to root rot. I repotted it into a smaller pot with a mineral hydro substrate and it stopped the decay and eventually led to these improvements. The soil was good for when it was outside during summer, keeping it moist enough in the full sun, but it was no longer appropriate when I brought it inside during winter.
I am also keeping it under a plant light in an enclosed cabinet at around 50-70% humidity and at 30ish°C. It seems to appreciate that. The see-through pot helps with only watering when necessary and monitoring root recovers. I’ve applied a small bit of mycorrhizal fertilizer by now, which also sped things up.
Hopefully, my experience can help turn someone else’s sad mango into a recovery mango as well 🙂

We love a recovering plant! It’s always nice to watch the progress too.

[Here](https://www.reddit.com/r/plantclinic/comments/1gtm99t/whats_wrong_with_my_mango/) I asked for advice for my mango that suddenly developed these brown spots on the leaves. It is recovering, made two new leaves as you can see, with two more on the way 🙂
