Wife and daughter picked this up for me at Disney World, I really like it but its stuck in the urchin to the point it will have to be broken to be removed.
This is my 2nd airplant but my first is solid green colored, is the purple true to the plant and here to stay or is it paint to sell a gimmick? Looks almost too cool to be real!

It looks enhanced to me. Easy way to tell. Use a wet cotton swab and just lightly rub the purple to see if it transfers. That’s how I figured out mine were enhanced. Looked similar to yours.
Yes, it’s painted. If it were naturally blushing, the color wouldn’t be thick and chunky – looking uneven – in some parts, like the leaf on the bottom left.
