I showered my plant with water (cover the soil with something) and the pressure of the water should get rid of them. Try a few times if it won’t work the first time

I recommend purchasing some predatory mites as treatment – spider mites can often become immune to miticides so while the infestation is still small, predatory mites are a good way of combating them.

  3. I got a humidifier and a strong fan. Spidermites hate humidity. Although if it’s not a plant meant for human consumption I just use pesticides. Earlier I used to use organic rapeseed oil, but when it comes to more expensive plants I don’t risk it

Spidermites. They get everywhere quick. Burn it down

Alcohol is better for mealie bugs. Soapy water is best for spider mites. If this is all there is (doubtful) use your soapy hands to wash down the leaves and stems of the plant. But if you’ve got a thick bushy plant, use a steam spray on a spray bottle filled with soapy water and squirt those buggars….thoroughly! If it’s pretty outside where u live, do it with the jet stream of your hose end sprayer pointing away from any plants you have. Isolate this plant while you do it and keep it isolated for a week at least. Check it to make sure they’re gone. Thought I had them off my holiday cactus but nope. Found more dessicated leaves yesterday, 4 weeks after treatment and cut the plant back drastically, cleaned the pot and surrounding pots and saucers. Found dessicated leaves on the plant next to it. They are nasty little buggars. Had an easier time getting rid of mealie bugs!

I originally cleaned my entire plant by hand just with water. Came back 2 weeks later with soap and water. Came back yesterday with soapy water and scissors but did the pot and saucer too. Also got rid of the top layer of soil. May have to change the soil. Need it to be warmer outside, but I have little cactus left. They destroyed all but a couple of leaf segments. Be aggressive your first time!

I just use water, a splash of neem, some SMC, a few drops of cinnamon and peppermint oil and a glug of isopropyl and spray down all my plants throughly every couple of months – and between I preemptively use provanto ultimate – neither kills both spidermites and thrips, so I like to preemptively prevent them.
Both mixes have never hurt.damaged any of my plants, including baby TC alocasia.
