I’m about to pull the trigger on the 6×10 version. Mabey bigger. Found it online for around 5-600$. I’ve scoured this sub. I know you are all caulking the heck outta this thing. Where is most this caulking going? Also wondered about sealing this wood before assembly? Have yet to see anyone do this? Why? Why not? Lastly the base. I plan to use the rubber pavers or rubber 1in thick horse mats as my floor. But the remainder of the greenhouse might be on the ground with say some gravel to flatten it correctly. Should I be using bricks or something a bit more than just gravel? I’m open to ideas and thoughts. Bad or good. Thank you!

Piggybacking!
Literally every place where a piece meets another piece must be caulked on the inside and outside. Around the edge of every window panel on the roof and sides, along the top beams, and along most of the wood edges. I went through 8 tubes of silicone caulk when all said and done.
The only reasons to maybe not use deck sealer on it before assembly are (1) it will make the pieces greasy and harder to hold as you put them together and (2) it may cause the pieces to swell and they won’t fit together as well. The latter issue is the one I’d be most concerned about. There are a lot of “insert piece into slot and slide into place” with this setup. Even a tiny bit of swelling could make all those slots unusable and ruin the whole thing.
Mine is sitting on one of those cheap green felt outdoor carpets, laid on top of 6 inches of paver base (gravel). The only reason to not sit it directly on top of the gravel would be unevenness in the stones causing gaps/drafts at the base. Pavers would definitely be better than straight gravel, but if you lay the base on top of something like I did, it’s not too bad.
I put osb board down, then some self sealing tiles, the. Will shellak over that. I bought an 8×6 off amazon . I placed it on my patio and nailed in concrete anchors. So far have not sealed it with all the snow, but may use clear caulk. I’m a female so I’m not sure how well it will hold up. Lol
I think I will seal the wood at some point, and should have prior to building.
My mother got one. No caulk used. No sealant was used. Zone 7a. She uses it as a shed basically to house tools she’s not using as well as pots and other materials.

Yardistry recommends sealing 3 months after assembly. Most wood that has had any kind of treatment requires you to wait at least a month, or it won’t “take” the sealer evenly and it can look very splotchy.
I caulked all the window-to-wood joints. I also added a flexible door “flashing” strip over the hinges of the upper vent window and this eliminated the leaking.
I caulked all the window joints on mine and some of the wood joints, but not all. I’ve also been debating sealing it in the spring as it is getting a little grey. Been trying to figure out what sealant is ideal and whether or not I should do it on the inside and outside it. I was hoping to use a pump sprayer to make it easy. Would love opinions and recommendations as well.
I need to add more caulking to mine. Just finished my first winter with it in 7b.
Either way, get the greenhouse. I love mine. Would recommend.
I have one though I use it as a man cave. Mine sits on a concrete pad so I put copper green (copper naphthelate) on the wood touching the ground. I also put silicone on the outside and inside base to prevent leaking from sideways rain.

We built a floating deck for ours out of composite decking on top of a gravel base for drainage. There is a post just after we built it in my profile. We also did a solid stain on ours after assembly to match our house and to protect the wood. We’ve had it for almost a year now and love it. I’m in NC and overwinter several smaller trees in there along with some plants that can’t quite tolerate frost. Plan on starting some seeds in there once temps are a little higher. Even in the middle of summer when I don’t have plants in there I love it to store all my gardening items and as a potting station. Highly recommend! I’m loving the look of the newer version they released.
Thats the veikous GH I have the same one

I have this in a hot summer climate and used removable caulk strips and other temporary weatherstripping measures around the poly panels. In summer I am going to need to pull most of them to have the space usable at all. It needs leak sealing badly, but think about all your seasons before you decide on something hard to change.
Where did you find that green house for $5-600? That doesn’t sound right. I got mine for $1400 and that was on sale. Be careful of scams sites.
Are they gonna be selling them again?
The instructions state where to caulk specifically, IIRC. We assembled, shellacked the entire exterior, then caulked like crazy. Roughly 8 tubes (the amount they give you is not enough). Definitely do caulk and shellac if you buy one… you don’t want moisture in between the window channels, and the sun beats down on these things all day. Make it worth the investment and make it last.
That said… Love ours and definitely recommend it. Esp if you can get it at the price you mention op!
I have the Yardistry from Costco. I love it! It’s all cedar so no sealing first year. The detailed instructions have not steered me wrong yet. Greenhouse leveled with and sits on concrete block. Dig out the dirt about 4” and put in small gravel. On top of gravel I have 4 large slate pieces for a walkway. The stone is great for wetting down to get humidity just right in summer and winter. It’s also easy to clean by spraying. I caulked according to directions and haven’t had a problem. Thank you to the person with fix for the leaky vent window!! I’ve been running the greenhouse thru the winter (recent week of single digits). House has greenhouse bubble wrap on all windows and reflective insulation around the bottom. Stays at 50 with propane/electric heat support and LED grow lamps. Fresh Lettuce and Kale :-). As long as your kit comes with the instructions you can’t go wrong with the Yardistry product.
i have the 6×6 and have NOT caulked it and it’s doing great! i live in northern cal with some mild winters (down to high 20s F). plants are thriving!
How about wind?? Does this hold up? I’m in the Lehigh valley and the wind can get crazy here
