When mentioned the long row of arbs and how you may have done things different, perhaps sell some of them? You have contacts with large nursery that sell trees. I'm sure you could take some of the trees out and place them around your own property, then sell or a trade for credit for all the rest.
I agree, those grow light systems on gardeners supply are sooooooo expensive that they should definitely be keeping all the parts to maintain them in stock on their website, or at the very least supply information on where one could buy similar lights/parts.
I found that I water rosemary and lavender a little over the top, but watering from the bottom over the winter too, keeps them going, especially in the winter while I have them in the house.
Wonderful recap. Love watching your videos and I never get tired of seeing of seeing seed starting, pruning, etc. Thank you. Have a blessed day everyone.
Hi Laura and Aaron question will you be attending the Northwest flower and garden show? I think it would be so great to see you, Janey, Claudia and Jenny get together and talk plants even if it was a coffee get together somewhere.
Scattered thoughts: Thinking about the seating/grill area, could you do a two sided fireplace? The opposite side might be a more intimate seating area. The discussion about the garden design video was great; it showed that there is more than one way to approach design. You both had ideas that a 3rd person can use, thank you! On the grow lights, is there any identification on the tube? Come to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, the whole family will love it. I make sure I don’t miss any GA videos, but GA Highlights really is the highlight of my weekend. The discussions between you both are so much fun as well as educational. Thanks and best wishes to the whole GA family! (I warned you they were scattered thoughts, lol)
HOW FAR DOWN CAN I CUT BACK MY HONEYSUCKLE? IT'S A SCENTSATION. I HAVE WATCHED SINCE YOU STARTED, AND YOU AND MY CUP OF COFFEE IS HOW I START MY DAY, EVERYDAY!!! MY JOY!!!
Would a small green house structure work where the locust tree was outside for a kitchen garden setup? Would it compete with the Hartley? Maybe it could be slightly heated and a darker color so it would blend into the shrubbery.
Danny, my husband and I watch your videos together. This is his question. We have 2 Knock out Roses and are his area. We are Central Alabama Zone 8a. Would you remove all of the leaves as you mentioned to do when pruning roses?
Outdoor kitchen: Great ideas online. Think of which direction the wind blows and place your grill so the smoke blows away from your guest and the chef. May install a vent hood if under an overhang. Give yourself plenty of counter space on each side of your grill for trays and cutting boards. Granite is a great outdoor surface for freezing weather. Remodel your kitchen and use the granite for your outdoor kitchen! Love your crab apple. Thank you for all of your suggestions to other links. I've purchased from Andrew Seeds and Garden Answer. I even purchased a Hose Link because of your channel.🌱🙏
Laura ,I am not a gardener but have such a good time watching your vlog . Love love you and Aaron together you two are a perfect match and so darn cute together . Also really enjoy your projects such as your koi pond and waterfalls . When everything is in full bloom I consider you have a little bit of heaven , so magical and lovely . Thankful to you and Aaron for sharing your life with us through all the seasons ! I can’t go without mentioning what a pleasure it is to watch your vlog with you, your mom , and sister so much fun ! ♥️🥰♥️
My neighbor planted bamboo, and wisteria in the same bed in front of her house. Then decided she couldn't handle it so let it go. Blackberry moved in. Boy what a mess covered her house, came up through her driveway even started growing in her garage. People Didn't even know a house was under that mess. I go over and am slowly clipping it down. Wish I knew how to keep it from growing back.
It would be wonderful to see a drawing of what you guys are talking about for behind the kitchen, it's kind of confusing just imagining it. You have a small patio and seating area to the left as you walk out of the house then you have the huge patio seating area just what 10 feet away on the other side of the outdoor fireplace. You're putting in a third patio/seating area to replace the third seating area patio you already have. It's hard to see it in my head. I was surprised when you said you needed to take out the fireplace area that you wouldn't make that whole area into the kitchen garden since you have two seating areas already right there and wanted closer access to food you're growing (not my house so not saying you should, that's just where my mind immediately went when you said that).
What about putting a new fireplace over where the kids play more room and it would be great for family get togethers and then in the other space put your table and chairs over there with a rock buffet to put all your food on
I wanted to say that my dad started all of his seeds in just vermiculite instead of a seed starter mix. It works for him like crazy. i haven't tried it yet. But it could be an experiment to try.
I enjoyed your video today as I do THEM ALL! Today's was perfectly timed because I sowed seeds under grow lights for the first time this year to attempt getting an extra month or so from the tomatoes and peppers. They are abundantly germinated and by probably the 3rd week of February, I will be up-potting them. As a nod to Aaron, I sowed artichoke seeds as well (I have never had any success growing them in the ground from seed or in the south facing window, but they have taken off under the grow lights). I have also sown hard to grow herb seeds for early harvesting. And dill…I use it as much as thyme and oregano, slightly less than basil and cilantro. Uses include, fish dishes, tartar sauce as the writer mentioned, drying for off season uses, tuna salad, fresh egg dishes, and the list goes on. I am beyond pleased with the grow light results, so far. Why I haven't used them in ALL the years past of my gardening, well, who knows?!
Laura and Aaron, we would gladly welcome you back to Mackinac County and Mackinac Island !! We do a lot of business on the Island from St Ignace in Bloom Florist and Greenhouse. Come on back.

Ace hardware has the fine vermiculite, or it used to.
Swallowtail butterflies love dill!! Is Monica not having children?
Remove a bulb and find a number on the bulbs. Then google search to find who carries those bulbs. Hope this helps.
Every year I say I'm not going to do winter sowing, but I just have to try at least a few. It's so easy.
I use 4ft 5000K led lights from Amazon. They come in 8 packs for $100 ish. I have about 30 of the tubes and they are great!
Is a two car garage out of the question for where the current raised beds are?

I got my vermiculite on amazon.

You can gring vermiculite in a blender to make the granules finer

Shouldn’t your existing bulbs have some wattage info on them, maybe on the end that plugs in?
With kids it’s like give them a cardboard box & they’ll play all day, instead of the toy that came in it!
potting trays are sold at Home Depot

Did I miss the recap of when Laura and Mom Susan went plant and antique shopping?
I thought that video was from a few days ago?
Green planting tray I found at Home Depot online.
You need to keep talking Louder always
Bought my planting tray on Walmart site!
Talking about political ads, I remember you showing a small bit Trump’s first inaugural on your YouTube.

Aloha, that area look to small for pines.
Referencing the paper pots. Couldn’t you just cut the paper so it fits the tray that a person already has?
I saw in a video where you were making pizzas in a pizza oven outside. That would be something neat to add to your outdoor kitchen
I love seeing the plants behind Laura!
You can purchase it from johnny’s seeds

The Kinsman company has the potting/ tidy tray…I bought mine from that company.

26:30 absolutely agree with Aaron ! ❤
