Great video, very enjoyable and inspirational. Thank you!
I ❤ your Videos ❤❤❤
Mine is too small to see from Google earth 😂
👌✨
Because I have deer and gophers and a tiny coastal garden, mine is always an experimental garden.🤭
We are now (and have been for a long time!) huge fans of your garden, your generosity to share your knowledge, and your passion for plants and flowers. Looking forward to another gardening year following you 🙂 And Thank you for subscribing to our channel!… we're hugely honored 🙂
Happy New Year🎉 Great video!
I tried the Google maps thing but I’ve so many nature trees you can’t really “see” any garden from above, well, not round the back anyway…😮
It’s a false economy to go cheap on the big, important features – Frances is right!
I definitely have areas that have never looked great, that I just ignore, and this is the main goal for 2025: to extend the “wow” moments, so I have less “woe” moments!! 😂👍🏻
Small pond = mosquitoes in summer.
The way you present this is exactly the way I would choose; professional, common sense, intelligent and thorough. Thank you for helping everyone who loves gardening and sees your videos 🙂
It's interesting that everything you show (even if at times it isn't quite the style I would choose) is done with the best application of the given style shown. You demonstrate that beauty is objective. Gardening is all about beauty. I used to be a graphic artist but when I was able to tend acreage I realised gardening was the most immersive art form. The work I do affects what I see, what I smell, what I hear, what I touch and what I taste, as well as everyone else who lives here or visits. The wildlife I draw in through the artwork I create is a wonderful bonus, in my case multiple bird species, snakes, lizards, echidnas and diverse insects. Constant change coupled with constant stability, cycles and seasons, always something thriving, something struggling.
I'm currently looking after a fledgling blackbird whose mother is unusually friendly. I have a feeling that the resident red bellied black snake may have been visiting the nest so I am looking after this fellow for a week or so while he learns to fly and be fearless in safety. I'll reintroduce him to the garden and he can be another companion as I weed 🙂 I clean the worms of any soil as the mother does and it is very friendly and happy. Nature is best when it is with us in a form of harmony that is the result of our stewardship and cooperation. All the best 🙂
Such a great concise description of design ideas – thank you!
This is very timely as I am about to have our septic tank replaced, which mean our front garden is about be completely dug up!
What a delight to see a new video! Thank you so much for sharing those wonderful design ideas. I get so much inspiration from your videos.
Thank you! Is there a link/more info about that lovely chicken tunnel?!
Very good advice thank you Alexandra. PS Adore your pea green coat and matching scarf!
Beautiful garden ❤❤🎉🎉
Good comprehensive tips/reminders…even for an ancient gardener …like myself.
My house is a corner plot, uphill towards the side, with a retaining wall and slope towards the road, with a curve at the front and slope towards the street, with uneven steps up to the garage pedestrian door.
Wow! Such wonderful advice and great visuals to enjoy on the 17th straight day of snow here in Quebec, Canada. Lots of nuggets here for anyone planning new projects for the next gardening season – Thank you Alexandra!
This was awesome
Watching from ireland Alexander love your channel !
Love your coat and scarf, looks lovely on you❤
A terrible time to do so, but if one can, then be honest and ask what you REALLY want from your garden and how much work you REALLY want to do (says the guy who preordered 2 shrubs and a small weeping Styrax last week)…I appreciate your channel because you are one of the few that brings up cons and show when things are "Frazzled." We only see when things are perfect – not a lot of people in the real world have $100k worth of hardscape, ponds/WF, and greenhouses all nestled on a diverse 5 acres. It's fun and can be inspiring to see but not all of the time (we never see when the pond goes sour, aster yellows whacks all your coneflowers, hot and humid days of shoveling/staking/weeding while surrounded by blackflies, etc.) Appreciate what you bring to us!
Adore your YT account! Always straight-forward, brilliant, inspiring content–this included. Frances Tophill is also one of the best! T/y
