Are you looking at insulated render? May be a good opportunity to get some better insulation if the budget runs to it.
For the porch, it really depends on what hard surfaces you're keeping around, like the steps, the pathway, the other bits. of concrete…cause I imagine you want it cohesive, so you're probably going to have to do a bit of editing buuuut if you're trying to create a destination on a budget option paint and stencil a fun tile design or border on the two steps and pad, few entry pots etc… but make sure the base of your "tile colour" is darker, like black to visually add more weight to the porch area x Good Luck !
