‼️For those of us in the Los Angeles area that have edible gardens with herbs, veggies, fruit, and citrus trees, this is a must!

The ash from the fires contains cancer, causing particles like asbestos and lead. This has been falling onto surrounding landscapes. As irrigation and/or rainwater occurs, this percolates down into the soil, which can affect edible crops.

I highly recommend that you take the time to remove those crops, and remove about 4 to 6 inches of affected topsoil around the edible plants/trees. The soil can then be re-distributed throughout other parts of the landscape that contain non-edible/ornamental plants.

Once that is done, bring a new topsoil and replant edible crops. It’s definitely a significant amount of work, but we do not want to ingest these toxins.

Again, let’s continue to pray for the folks that have lost everything in these horrific fires.
