I got this cutting from a mother plant and I assume it is a sort of Sengonium. It gets indirect sunlight and sits in a tap water. It has been around 2 months but it has not been rooting. Why could it be? And how can I get it rooting? Thanks!

  1. If it were me I’d let that new leaf develope all the way and then trim off the older bigger one. That way your cutting has more energy to put into rooting. It also looks like you might have one pushing out at the 3rd node hard to tell. You could also try some rooting hormone like Clonex if you haven’t already.

It looks healthy, so it’s a waiting game now. Keep the water clean because this is a root before rot game. Lol. Distilled water wouldn’t hurt. Syngonium absolutely thrive emersed, so it will root!
