Have you heard of a Hori Hori knife?

It’s a brilliant all rounder that looks more like a knife, but is actually a traditional Japanese trowel.

You can use it for weeding – it’s especially great at getting out tap roots or for when you need to be really precise and pick things out between planting.

It’s great if you’re looking to transplant small plants, as the sharp blade will cut down into the soil and around the root system, allowing you to lift it clearly out of the ground.

You can also use it for planting in beds and containers, both for smaller seedlings or anything up to a nine centimetre pot.
