Hi all. I noticed some weird white things on my plant a while back, they look almost like the shell of a bugs.

They don’t move, I can’t see any pests but I sprayed with a bug killer and also washed in the shower. Most has gone but a few months later I see the same thing.

I haven’t been the best plant mum and I’m hoping I can save this. Watering hasn’t been great up until now but I mostly do this when it feels dry. The pot can drain. The plant sits in my window and has light but not very bright.

They look like aphid skeletons. Definitely not spider mites.

  2. They kind of look like mealy bugs to me, but I’m not expert. Try taking a q-tip with rubbing alcohol and try to touch them. If they turn brownish they’re mealy bugs

Agree they are most likely aphid exuviae (shed skins)

  4. They’re aphids. Spray with dishsoap or neem oil to treat, twice a day

They are mealy bugs. Very difficult to get rid of. The white are females and they do not move. They just produce eggs. The males fly. To get rid of them, spray with horticultural oil to destroy the eggs esp. under the leaves, and place sticky sheets to catch the males.

Definitely NOT mealys. Mealys are way more flat and way less leg. I’d be leaning towards aphids
