Re-posting this from a few days ago because my last post didn't have a close-up of the weed and I incorrectly assumed it to be nutsedge.
I recently moved into a new construction home in central NC with new bermuda sod that was laid in early October of 2024. It went dormant around mid November, but over the past 3 months, this particular weed has started to spread on one side of the house. It is cold resistant, tolerating the 20°F temperatures and frost.
I've been looking into ways to deal with this, but am worried about potentially killing the sod along with the weed, as it's likely not fully established yet. The builder's landscaper recommend to just use weed and feed, but I'm a little doubtful. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Perennial rye grass my friend.
Your Bermuda most likely had enough time to establish it’s roots that you could spray it with, I think Certainty targets perennial rye grass. However unless it’s just really bugging you, I would just leave it until spring and focus on getting prodiamine down at the right time.
Talk fescue, rye grass
Certainty herbicide is pricey but it will work or you can wait for the spring heat to take care of it. Next fall put down a quality($$$) pre emergent like spectical, it will help keep it from returning.
Local Siteone locations have the best prices on spectical(don’t use till next fall, you need a full growing season).
