    Kaye, thank you for all you shared in this video, but in response to your question, I’ve been trying to discover what my calling is at age 66, as so many changes have happened in my life since 2020. In my mind I can see myself doing so many things, but then my body derails them, and I have become much of a hermit, outside of interacting with the family I live with. I have weathered a few years of loss, such as you have, and I pray that you will continue to find peace during this season, and I pray that 2025 will be a good year for all of us and that we will be able to work on goals and to fulfill our calling.     I so enjoy your stories, Kaye. It brings comfort and familiarity to look back on old recipes, and talk about how people lived when we were growing up. You're right though, I'm in a different place in many ways too. The world sure does look very strange and I do lean on my faith everyday to make sense of it all.

    I’m in the same boat as you. The same age I’m sure, 15-20 pounds overweight. I started doing some chair yoga and 15-25 minute walk at home for seniors on YouTube. All free. Started 2 weeks ago. Don’t know if I’ll lose any weight but I sure feel better. I noticed getting up from a crouch was getting tough and I’m sure my legs are a little stronger. Check it out. 1/2 hour per morning to start. Now doing about an hour between two videos. Just keep praying for our country and the world.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️🥰

    Mary just dropped a Cream of Marrow Soup recipe this morning! It looks wonderful! She said you could make bone broth with the bones after you make the soup! I like two-fers! The Lord had to REALLY work on me to get me to acknowledge and do my calling! But He called me to teach children. I started with after-school clubs. Then I started teaching preschool children. And now I teach 3 to 5 year olds at church. It's fun and challenging at the same time. But, as a dear friend says, "Teaching children about Jesus is the best job EVER!"

    These days, and especially since 2020 but even before, I find myself sharing what I now know about the darkness enveloping the Earth. Of course simultaneous to that is our enlightenment, we've awoken, and I now feel closer to God than ever! My personal calling, if you can call it that, is to find a companion before I leave for that better place. That, and caring for my family, helping them through these struggles of our time.

    Talk about anything you want Kay , there were five of us we didn't have lots of food to get a nice steak, nice chops we did not have desert per say, and yes one can of tuna fed us all , but we survived so there are all kinds of way we can make it on a tight budget they believed in corporal punishment back then , we lived and no overweight non of us , we got a bag of apples , bag of oranges , the eggs were scrambled because that way a few eggs could go along way , love to hear your memories and seeing the wonderful clothing and Momentos you have kept throughout the years , love you Kay try not to work so hard .

    Thanks Kaye– this was a great way to spend a cold and a little lazy Saturday afternoon. Almost felt on the porch with you. We had those same chairs….or very similar I should say. Sure would love to finally be brave enough to answer a calling….Almost 68 and sold our family home 4 and a half years ago–Just hubby and I now and you sure have inspired us over the past couple years. Again, thanks Kaye, you're terrific!
    Mom is right there in your heart, always and forever. I lost my very dear and close mama 0ver 30 years ago. Still miss her and "talk" to her almost daily. Give yourself all the grace you need. God Bless you.

    @ Kaye well that's why it's location location location, I'm sure you have seen the difference between your car registration from CA to TN… States and regulations and and taxes have people literally by the throat… So many ways they- the gov -has already sold people on ideas of how they are expected to live, they ways people use to make money or pass riches on, or obtain a livelihood is intruded on to the point they have taken actual cash out of the hands of citizens.

    Watch some of these viral food prep videos and the quality of ingredients… There is going to be to be a head shift.

    I have bone broth a second try with our Thanksgiving turkey and already have some xhicken carcass in freezer towards the next batch. It is so easy to learn about nutrition these days when you find trustworthy teachers on the internet.

    My mother was Great Depression farm kid. She always made salmon cakes for dinner, and I loved them! AND she made the best Swedish steak!

    My 20 year old grandson asked for a sewing machine for Christmas this year🤯 He got it to. Said he wants to learn how to sew! Who knew! We were all surprised.

    I am 64. My husband died almost a year and a half ago. I ate a lot of comfort food and gained 20 pounds. Now I have a daughter getting married in June and need to lose it! I enjoy your stories. I had many of the same childhood stories even though I grew up in South Carolina. I'm a backyard gardner growing as much as I can because my children have no idea how.

    You look just fine, I'm heavier than I used to be too. It wouldn't look good to be as thin as I used to be. I'm in my 70's now and weighing 20-25 pounds more is still within a good BMI.

    I love your stories. Sometimes I feel like we were raised by the same parents. They came through the depression as children and raised us to be sensible God fearing people. Discipline enough so we turned out to be good people. I appreciate you and keep you in my prayers.
