Is my air plant dehydrated? I don’t mist it and it’s placed behind a window where the only time it’s in direct sunlight is when the sun starts to set. I don’t mist it so could that be why?

From what I understand – and I only got an airplant recently – they do need lots of light, and should be soaked upside down roughly once per week depending on your humidity and light, and I have read they enjoy misting every couple days or so. However it’s crucial to not let the water sit in the core part, or it will rot. Hope this helps!

It’s definitely too dry. I have had two for years now and no less than once every two weeks they get soaked in rainwater (if it’s available, sometimes tap that’s been left out to off gas) for 10-30 minutes. You need to at least mist it.
