  1. These are $29.99 in Canada!!
I still own 4… One for Cool Flowers, One for Warm flowers, one for Veg/herbs and one for saved seeds.

  2. I use these picture sorters for my seeds. Adding labels really helps when looking for a specific type of seed.

  3. You can always rearrange the colors into different boxes. Like if you have more tomato seed packets than two red will hold, pull the other two from the second box and switch with a different color into the other box. Could help with greens. Orange for carrots, yellow for onions. Blue for cold weather plants. Pastel colors could be used for flowers. You may need to buy a couple more containers. I was yelling at you when you were in the store to buy more.

  4. I have the same boxes, only clear, two for veg, one for herbs, and I had another one for flowers and some non-flowering plants, but that didn't work (too many of them). So, for flowers, I use an oversized plastic shoe box. I cut in half one of those very thin flimsy plastic cutting boards the long size of the box to make a center support. I entered all my flower seed names on the right and alphabet (A, B, C, D, etc. on separate row, different file name) on the left of the cells in an excel doc, sorted alphabetically, font to bold and 16 size, and printed 2 of each species on one sheet of card stock paper. I cut each one with a paper cutter the size of the section (they fit nicely in their half of the box to the highest height and side to side with a lid, and I cut the ones with the flower names about 1/4 shorter so I could see the alphabet). Then, I organized the flower packets in each section like a mini filing cabinet with file folders. I also use vinyl labels or a sharpie to write the names of the vegies on the smaller photo boxes. I have an excel spreadsheet of each veg, etc., and when to plant. So, as I start seeds, I take the photo box of the one I am starting that week to the greenhouse area. For example, this week, I will be working on onions, brassicas, asparagus, etc. Once I plant the few seeds I need from the packet, I put the packet back into it's photo box, take it back to the larger box (stored in a different place), and file it away alphabetically by name. I haven't wrote on the lid because every year I will add one new plant or decide to never plant that one again (we all have one of those) causing to add or subtract a photo box that would mess up the names on the lid. This has worked so incredibly well over the years. I don't loose packets (or leave them on the table while I am watering 🙄) because I don't let packets stay out of the photo boxes or loose boxes. Also, I notice that they do resist water when the lid is closed. Ask me why I say that 🤣.

  5. I think I’m going to try organizing my seeds into seasons, i.e. Cool, warm, HOT, 2nd cool….but I do have the same photo box you bought only clear! Zone 8 SW TN

  6. I use these same photo containers. I label top of each container on what is in it. Where I can quickly grab what I need to get. On year 3 doing this system. I have one for spring/ summer , one for fall, and one for flowers.. Works well for me.

  7. I hit black friday sales. I got 8 of them for $96!! I also have an old school card catalog. I also have a huge tote full of zipper binders with the seed packets in plastic divided sleeves. I know. I'm a bit ridiculous 😂

  8. I recently got the clear container and purchased a variety of colored masking tape. This way I can rip off the tape and replace it with a color that works better for me.

  9. I have multiple of these containers. They are sorted like you have but then sub sorted by when i need to sow them so that i dont have to remember when each needs to be planted. I put labels on the edge of the little boxes with when i need to sow them so that they are easy to see. I also have one whole box sorted with my direct sow plants.

  10. I have 2 of those organizers and I’m planning on getting #3 soon. I have the clear ones and I put garden stickers from you and Jess from Roots and Refuge on them.

  11. Great idea I got two last year one for cool weather crops and one for summer crops. Maybe some could create a bunch of labels for these.

  12. " so far" I only have two, warm season and cool season seeds, by next year I may need a third to house my warm and cool flowers/ herbs seeds😊 . My seed collection just keep growing!

  13. I have used these for years after Kate from YouTube Kate and Eli channel showed it. I already had one but not put any photos in it yet. I have one for veggies and one for flowers. I have a label maker and marked each individual compartment. I used clear container for veggies and colored one for flowers and herbs. I only take the plastic box needed for planting that day. And a plus that if it rains while planting, the unused seeds stay dry. And I buy only the seeds needed each spring. I am able to keep seeds dry for storage since I rarely use a whole packet of seeds for a couple containers or row in raised bed.
Glad you shared this with your followers.
They go on sale periodically at Michaels or can use coupons.

  14. I picked one of these up last year and it works great. I got the color ones also since it made more logical sense to group veggies by type into the common colors.

  15. My son got me two for Christmas, one for flowers and one for veg. I organized and gathered all of the loose boxes, got rid of empty envelopes….and promptly placed a $42 seed order at MIGardener.

  16. This is such a neat idea, but I have to use the 3- ring binder with plastic slotted sleeves. It is therapeutic to flip through and see the seed packets with pictures of the plants during the slower winter months. It's also a little easier to access what you need or is about to age out.

  17. I think it would be a really good idea to use the colors for the times of planting. Like early spring for red or purple for spring or like for the time of month for planting

  18. That's way to sophisticated for me. I have a big box of large manilla envelopes. I label the envelope and put my seed packets in those. I put the envelopes in an old metal file box I found….for free. It's not a orderly as yours, but it does keep things together! And…..I'm too old to change. If I was just starting out I would definitely go with something like what you showed! Thanks Luke.

  19. Please buy the USA made ones, the Chinese made ones break on the tabs that close the boxes. Support USA made goods!

  20. Looks like you definitely needed more than one. I have seen others doing this too. Cool idea, I wonder if there is a similar option that is not plastic. Right now I keep mine in biodegradable food storage bags.

  21. I have 6 three color and three clear. Started using colored labels and I can see what's in them.
I also use a three ring binder with pocket sleeve. Less space required.

  22. I use my herbs in purple too! Rubbing alcohol takes sharpie off so I just write on the small box in sharpie because a few times I have had to change the label! I have 3 of these and 2 other boxes for my saved seeds because they don't store as flat! I have the 3 boxes sorted by what starts first so like box one is onions and peppers and perenials then box 2 is more like brassicas and tomatoes then box 3 is all stuff I start outside like corn and beans and beets and carrots 😀
