@THERUSTEDGARDEN
Cover in a future video how to create a nice setup. Space, shelving, lights, etc.
It looks interesting what you have done, but it is the wrong way to grow. Food is grown outside, and not inside. The only reason why people normally grow inside is to prepare for growing outside.
I suppose you heard of the word transplant. Before transplanting is done plants can be grown inside, but when plants are ready to be transplanted then it goes outside.
Growing inside is normally temporarily done, so when plants have matured enough then they are brought outside, and this depends on the individual. I believe there are people who prefer going through the process of planting outside without preparing, so this means no transplanting, and no growing inside!
Just to let you know plants grow, and, so does food, so there is more space outside to grow than inside. If you were growing outside then you could easily make changes to how you grow comparing to you trying to grow, and harvest everything inside.
I wish I had space for this.
This time of year in New England, actual growing outdoors is a distant memory and months and months away from starting again. Growing indoors is a great way to tide you over until the actual growing season. Long cold winters are tough for us gardeners, a little indoor garden with an actual harvest is such a great thing to do. You get it Gary!
I don't know what variety of peas you used, but possibly sugar magnolia peas would produce more tendrils. I know the ones I grew this year outside were loaded with tendrils. That is one of the features they mention on the seed packet.
Leaf miners destroy all the radishes I've ever planted outside, so this looks like a possible solution.
I went to Walmart where we usually get them when I am not growing inside. Last week they were fist size for $1.47. NO way would I bring them home they had to be HORRIBLE! I came home and started mine in Coco Coir like this method. Mine are kind of more kratky hydroponics and are done at 30 days the past 2 times. They are so much better than store bought!
I grow indoors over the winter here in Michigan Zone 6A. I find that I do pretty well getting nice harvests from earliserve (AKA early bush Italian) beans & sugar Ann dwarf snap peas IF I use the more powerful, more expensive LED grow lights I see the weedheads using. The shop lights don't quite cut it, but the 5000-10000 Lumen LED shop lights do well enough to get leafy greens to full maturity.
Last winter, I used one of your winter indoor growing videos to grow indoors under shop lights for the first time. Peas and lettuce. Worked out well and led me to growing alot of brassica and lettuce transplants for the spring and fall. Thanks!
I did get about 10 actual peas after some months. Must have been some black flies pollinating. 😊
