So exciting!
Looks so amazing!❤☀🌸🌷
can't wait to see this come together, the arbor closer to the house and that inner area reminds me of how the entrance was years back when your driveway went right in front, kinda a nice echo of that concept. also these mentions of winter interest keep reminding me i need to add more and more to it, i neglected it in the first few years of gardening, but now it's a something i really need to work on. did a good start last year though. annoyingly for me though is that the spot i most need it, is the ONE dry spot. i say dry as if southern new england is a dry place lol, but still. lost a blue spruce a few years ago as they do terribly here. i gotta do more research on what works here. ironically we live next to a christmas tree farm, and their white fir does amazing, probably should try and learn what else they have back there.
weirdest issue i have though? holly should do well, but every single time, no matter wet to moist to dry to shade to sun to high airflow to medium, their leaves dry up, blackish spots, or just turn light brown all over all at once, drives me insane! i want them so bad i love the look! then again the inkberry hollies have done nicely down the hill. idk
I loved this video. Please do more for other areas of the garden during this time of year when there’s not much planting to do. It’s a fun change from watching you plant seeds. 😊
So creative. This will be an absolutely beautiful garden. Hopefully you will be able to make it happen soon. Thank you for inspiring us to look at our gardens and be creative too. 💕
Can someone share the app that Laura mentions she uses? I missed it in the recording…thank you!
I love your plans and creativity–so inspiring! The custom wrought iron railing is such a beautiful focal point, but it just rests on plain concrete steps. Have you considered either refacing or replacing the steps with brick or flagstone steps to match the rest of the garden? You could also put some heating tubes underneath so they are not a slipping hazard in winter. I so enjoy your videos!
I like the idea of having 4 arbors along the path so that this part of the garden will be totally different from the other parts of your garden. It will give the space a character totally of its own.
Love all you do! Just a suggestion…remove the wrought iron railings. They’re too “airy” & throws off the proportions of the house. I think a more bulky, white, wood rail that doesn’t curve up the stairs would fit the house better. Even better if you build it out to the outer edge of the steps. Also, consider bulking-up the 5 posts on the addition to match those corner posts on the original porch. Both projects should be relatively easy and not too expensive. Then plan your paths & plants.
I’m so excited too!!! 😆 🎉
I’ve been watching your channel since the beginning. It’s amazing how your landscaping projects have blossomed! I am planning to revamp some of my own urban garden beds and this gives me ideas and the courage to pull up existing plants and replace for better architecture. Thank you so much love this channel!
You need to add lights. Some cute victorian style iron lamps all over the garden.
Don’t be apologetic about yanking out the hydrangeas. Erin did it on the side of her house. She had the old floppy bushes. She replaced them with more hydrangeas but with attributes she found more pleasing (they stand upright). They are always developing and coming out with improvements to these plants. If you can save them and move them great. If not. It’s the end of their life cycle.
That was so fun! It seems in the beginning that you tell us it’s going to be pretty and we believe you. But then when it’s all in bloom and perfected, we try to convince you how beautiful we think it is! Your visions blow me away!
Please don't hate me…. but every time she says "boxwoods", I cringe…. I don't know why but I do!! Just something about them…….. but then, I don't have a formal bone in my body. 😳🤣
This is going to be beautiful
The arbors w roses would be stunning
The rose garden
Laura it's going to be beautiful !
So fun and exciting to see you plan from the very beginning!! It will be Gorgeous Laura! ❤ Love seeing your excitement 🎉🎉
If it does become a winter garden, you’ll definitely need coral berrys ☺️
Thank you. Great explanation of the process. And, timing….. well, we’re prepping for an arctic blast coming through the next few days. And this is why we like gardening- hope!
Fun video to see a possible plan then looking forward to what you finally choose. Smart lady! Look at all you have accomplished.
Winter garden – love it – filled with hellebores in between smaller sized low growing blue evergreens – with spring bulbs popping up in between the blue. Can't plant anything too tall or you won't be able to see the south gardens in all its glory.
Have you considered redoing your porch in this area? You could center the stairway and enclose the whole porch area with glass windows. More room for overwintering and more room for the kitties. RC
I'm excited for you! This gives me so much inspiration.
With some evergreens, perhaps giving a little shade to the hot side of your house, you might have room for some of the hostas that have had to move. I remember a whole bunch of them getting tucked behind some evergreens over by the pond for storage. More shade plants from where the locust came out, too, though I imagine you might be thinking of a big shade tree there again. Such FUN. I really appreciate seeing you working with that program. I've never used one. So much to learn still at my age. 😀
Fun brainstorming session! I learned so much from you, as always. Thank you!
I love your ideas, especially the arbors, I'd go for 8 ft wide arbors, with your Colette roses, then have the lilacs, say lavender 🪻 colored lilacs with the pink Colette roses. They blend together. I'd continue your black benches you have up front.
So Fun!! 🤩
Oh wow!!! I have seen some of your old videos on line which say the only way to comment is to be a member. I’m not paying a monthly fee so you don’t have to work outside the home. How dare you?!? I watch all your videos in real time. I like them, this helps the algorithms that get you paid! That is not enough for you?!? I have been watching you for years. I don’t have to continue if you are going to be crappy with members only content. Enjoy your “members” I will go elseware.
