I just started a new job and have inherited this half-started greenhouse project and don’t really know where to go with it. Does anyone have any idea how to work with building up and hanging things from the inside of this style of greenhouse? It’s got these grooves in the frame where I can put in extra screws, but then I have to take the entire rail apart to get the screw in there. It seems like there must be a better way. I’m looking all over and striking out, but maybe I’m looking in the wrong direction. Also, the ventilation windows in the roof are garbage and don’t seem to stay open for the life of me. They don’t connect at the hinge to anything, so any time the arm falls in the wind or even shifts just a little bit, the entire window falls out. Is there ay way to prevent this?

Any resources on where I can look for info on these, or images of people’s greenhouses where I can steal some ideas would be greatly appreciated. I may have told them I’ve done this before, so I need to look like it at least a little.

You’ll have to buy mofular shelving or build your own.

A lot of people will build a support system inside with 2×4’s to make it stronger in case of wind. You’d be able to use those to hang plants from but I would trust the strength of the supports now with extra weight. I believe those roof vents are supposed to be attached at the roof peak possibly slide in from the end and hinge from there while opening. They may need to clamped down when in the closed position to prevent it from flapping open with wind.

Cheapo generic harbor freight/amazon greenhouse. Doesn’t seem to be on a base frame, no power ? Which way is it facing. Plenty of books about greenhouses, visit local garden centers, nurseries and talk to the professionals. So many regional variables and if you’re new to growing anything, treat it as a cold frame seed for seed starting. Then empty for late spring summer. No active air flow or shade cloth you are going to cook everything inside.

  5. If you can find the brand of greenhouse they might sell accessories specifically for the greenhouse you have. It looks like it might be an Amerlife, which unfortunately doesn’t sell accessories separately.

Regarding those slots in the rails, my greenhouse (Palram Canopia brand) has the same thing. You’re looking for T shaped bolts, [like this](https://www.acfgreenhouses.com/greenhouse-t-bolts), that slide into the slots and turn to lock them in place without taking the wall apart. And if the spaces between each rail are the same as other brands, you might be able to just order accessories for those brands, [like these](https://www.canada-greenhouse-kits.ca/collections/palram-accessories), which will come with those same T Bolts.

The window picture is a bit blurry, but it looks pretty similar to mine so you might even be able to get away with the window openers from Palram too.
