Well, let’s test these Dollar Tree Seeds and see if they are worth it. I have had success in the past but who knows. It seems some have success while others fail with them so we are going to give it a go.

I use mini blinds that I took down years ago. I cut them down to the proper size, and bam, you have a bizzillion markers.
I use popsicle sticks from my grandkids as markers in my seed starting trays and winter sowing jugs
I have had great success with Dollar Tree seeds. I have used them for years and they have been fine. I especially like them for vegetables. I have a nice garden, but space is always limited, and I don't want to grow a whole regular package full of most seeds. So paying $3 for a package of tomato seeds and then only growing 2 tomato plants (of any one variety), is a lot more expensive than buying Dollar Tree seeds. I will still buy other seeds, to assure a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, but for things like broccoli, cabbage, chard, etc., Dollar Tree seeds have been great for me.
I always get dollar tree seeds when they first come out, because they fly off the rack. I have always had great success with all of them. The Alaska peas I planted this August grew like crazy and were very productive. I use their radishes and many of the flowers. This year I will be trying daisies. I use my own seed starting mix instead of commercial varieties.
Check germination by putting seeds between moist paper towels, and then put them in a freezer bag or similar plastic wrap. If you see roots and stems coming out of the seed shell, you're good. And you can plant them as well.
thank your for the info, and I thought food was from the grocery store ,just kidding
retried and not a huge income but watch adds for you for help lol
I have had excellent germination and production with American Seeds at Dollar Tree for 4 years.
Germination with many Baker Creek varieties has been very disappointing.
I've always had great success with Dollar Tree seeds. I just went there a few days ago and bought a bunch of them for this Spring.
I love the dollar tree seeds because my garden is very small and I can’t use all the seeds in the more expensive big box stores
Astonishing that you, without irony, made me watch that whole video to say “I’ll let you know in a week” when you know full well that how they turn out in 6 months is much more relevant to any conversation regarding whether they are worth it.
ANY of these will probably work. But my concern is not saving a few cents. What I now realize is that 99% of home gardeners do not need more than a few seeds / plant. We're not trying to fill city blocks. I get 90% at Migardener. (Not a paid ad – wish it was! LOL) The online store lets you browse for $2 packages! But what I like is the huge selection, service, specials, volume and germination (right at 100%). I retain packages for the next year. Tiny seeds (like coleus) yield volumes of 40 to 50 in a 3" cup. I can't learn my lesson – anyone want 22 Pimento plants or 75 Fennels??
I cut up yogurt containers for tags.
Dollar tree seeds are so worth it and I`m CANADIAN. I make sure I stop at many dollar tree stores and stock up on seeds when I`m in the States. I`ve had great success.
I've used dollar store seeds do great
Where did you get your round sifter that fits over a bucket?
Plantation seeds, Ferry-Morse seeds, Livingston seeds, Green Garden and American Seeds are all from the same place. Perhaps they are different quality of seeds, after they are graded, hence the different price points? Our Dollar Tree seeds aren't in the stores, yet…I will check the addresses once I buy some there. For me, they have worked from well, or not at all over the years.
Never had an issue with American Seeds.

I’ve had better success with Dollar Tree than other seed companies! They are awesome!
I can't wait to see the results. Thanks for sharing your experiment. Great video.
I have alot of success with my dollar tree seeds.
This was so helpful and informative!! I love how you explain things as if we were right there in the room with you. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your wealth of planting knowlege, tips, and experience with all of us out here in the YouTube world!! ❤😊🪴
I just bought $50 dollars worth of Dollar tree seeds! Last year I seeded flowers in marginal area and some were prolific, some didn’t grow well. But price is hard to beat to experiment. Their vegetables grew fine as well, I used them to winter sow and they all sprouted.
You are limited in choices if all you do is buy “ off the rack” at dollar tree or any store. These seeds have been good for me. Most of the varieties are heirloom or open pollinated so you can save the seeds. I get a lot of other seeds online, but I always get a bunch of these to give out when I am teaching a gardening class.
Iv used them for years they always grow. Honestly my best cucumber crops where these dollar tree seeds!
Very interesting video, thank you. I've never heard of using cork as a soil topping. I've used sand, grit, bark, and calcined clay, but not cork. Please let us know how that works.
The neem cake makes a visible mycelial web. Freaked me out at first, now i only put it lower down in pots. Fungus gnat eggs are in ALL the bagged soils here in Michigan. Have great success with homeade compost, sand, perlite and organic ammendments.
I tried wooden craft sticks, too, but they soaked up water and got gross. Also, pencil comes right off of them if they're ever outside in rain.
